The Dallas Cowboys have worked hard to improve a defense that last season ranked 30th in total yards allowed per game (377) and 32nd in points allowed per game (30.1). After missing the playoffs and going 7-9-1 in 2025, the defense proved to be the Cowboys' biggest weakness.
In the 2026 NFL Draft, they invested heavily on that side of the ball by using their two first-round picks on safety Caleb Downs (No. 11) and EDGE Malachi Lawrence (No. 23). They also signed safety Jalen Thompson (three years, $33 million) in free agency while trading for Green Bay Packers EDGE Rashan Gary.

Despite all of these additions, the Cowboys are searching for more help. On Tuesday, Jordan Schultz reported that Dallas is set to host free agent cornerback Adoree' Jackson.
"Sources: The #Cowboys are hosting veteran CB Adoree’ Jackson on a free agent visit today. Jackson was with the Eagles last year, where he started 10 games — recording 55 tackles, 11 PBUs, and 1 INT," he wrote. "His DBs coach there was Christian Parker, who is now the Cowboys' DC."
Jackson began his career as a first-round pick for the Tennessee Titans in the 2017 NFL Draft. He spent four years with the team before signing with the New York Giants out of free agency before the 2021 season.
He was heavily relied on as a key piece to the Giants' defense, appearing in 51 games and making 41 starts. However, after yet another four-year stint, he was a free agent and landed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jackson was decent in pass coverage over his 14 games and 10 starts with Philadelphia. The former USC Trojan was targeted 75 times, allowing 47 receptions for 487 yards, one touchdown and an 80.2 passer rating.
He isn't expected to earn a large contract, with Spotrac projecting a one-year, $1.8 million deal. That would make Jackson an affordable option for the Cowboys as they continue rebuilding their defense.
