Will the Dallas Cowboys acquire Maxx Crosby before their Week 1 showdown with the New York Giants?
Prior to the Las Vegas Raiders' failed trade with the Baltimore Ravens, it was reported by ESPN that Dallas offered a 2026 first-round pick, a future second-round pick and a veteran player for Crosby. Although their hasn't been many trade conversations involving Crosby over the past few months, there's some buzz on social media this Friday.
While on 105.3 The Fan this afternoon, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones suggested that help is on the way for Brian Schottenheimer's defense.
"We've got several things that we're considering right now, some of it trades, some of it signing guys. A lot of these older players who have still got some tread on the tires can come in here and help you," Jones said. "It may come in the form of a trade, it may come in the form of a veteran signing as you move into camp."

After hearing these comments from Jones, fans in Dallas can't help but wonder if he's hinting at a blockbuster trade for Crosby.
"The more I think about the effects a Maxx Crosby addition could have for the Cowboys, the more I see how it could help the team, right now," one fan commented.
"My guess is he's weighing between Maxx Crosby and Josh Sweat," a second fan said.
"Maxx Crosby would look so good in a Cowboys jersey," another fan wrote on X.
Crosby would certainly give "America's Team" a boost on defense. We're talking about a player with 69.5 career sacks and 164 QB hits.
Who else could the Cowboys target?
One name that Cowboys fans may want to keep on their radar is 37-year-old pass rusher Von Miller.
Miller, an eight-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl MVP, spent the 2025 season with the Washington Commanders. While his days of being an All-Pro are over, he did rack up 26 tackles and nine sacks last year.
Another veteran the Cowboys could consider is linebacker Bobby Wagner, who is currently a free agent. He's coming off a 2025 season where he had 162 tackles, 4.5 sacks, four pass break-ups and two interceptions.
