Connor McDavid and Team Canada are ready to begin their Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic run against Czechia on Feb. 12 at Santagiulia Arena in Milan.

The game starts at 10:40 a.m. ET as Canada opens group play with NHL players in the Olympics for the first time since 2014.

McDavid will serve as alternate captain while Sidney Crosby leads the team as captain. During early practices in Milan, McDavid centered a top line with Macklin Celebrini and Tom Wilson as coaches tested combinations.

Before the opener, Lauren Kyle, McDavid’s wife, shared three Instagram stories from Milan that showed her support for Team Canada.

In the first story, she posted a mirror selfie with Sarah McDavid, the wife of Connor’s brother Cam McDavid. She wrote two simple words in the caption: “Let’s go!!”

The next story showed a photo of her hand purse, where she used a heart emoji and a Canadian flag. In the final story, she shared another mirror selfie while wearing a custom WAG jacket she designed through her brand, Sports Club Atelier, to support players’ partners during the Olympics.

McDavid remains a key part of Canada’s leadership group as the team prepares for a tight tournament schedule. Canada will also face Switzerland and France during preliminary play before the knockout stage begins. Early practices have focused on building chemistry and finding strong line combinations, and Canada is looking strong offensively.
