Team Canada may not have walked away with the gold medal in the 2026 Winter Olympics, but they did boast this year's MVP.
On Sunday, Canadian team captain and Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid walked away with several top awards from the IIHF — including Most Valuable Player of the Milan-Cortina Games hockey tournament.
The winner's of this year's individual honors were announced following Team USA's dramatic overtime win over Canada, courtesy of Jack Hughes, and McDavid was able to walk away with a number of them.

Connor McDavid walks away with 2026 Olympic MVP after historic performance
Per the IIHF, McDavid was named tournament MVP after leading the event in scoring with 13 points in six games — breaking the record for most points in one Olympic tournament with NHL participation.
McDavid was also voted Best Forward by the accredited media members and selected to the 2026 Winter Olympics All-Star team. With the rest of the awards shaking out like this:

"Congrats on the MVP, Connor. We'll take the gold medal and the cup thank you very much," a user posted.
"Highway Robbery for Hellebuyck bro, he ended that tourney with like a .955, that’s insane," another said.

McDavid's excellence was once again on display in this year's games. But despite his statistical dominance, it wasn't enough to get his country the gold.
