Indiana Fever fans were left excited by the team’s latest social media activity. On Monday, the Fever posted an update on social media ahead of the 2026 season. In the post, the team reminded fans that there are just 47 days left before the new campaign kicks off.
The graphic featured Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Mikayla Timpson. This trio represents the only players on the squad that are officially under contract heading into the new season. Everybody else on the roster will need to negotiate new deals to remain with the team in 2026 and beyond. This includes three-time All-Star Kelsey Mitchell.

Mitchell was Indiana’s driving force in 2025 amid Clark’s injury-riddled second season in the WNBA. The former Rookie of the Year was limited to just 13 games before being diagnosed with a season-ending groin strain.
Mitchell carried much of the load for the Fever. She averaged a career-high 20.2 points on 45.6% shooting, to go along with 1.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.5 triples in 31.4 minutes per game. The 29-year-old finished fifth in the MVP race.
The fact that Mitchell was not included in the Fever’s offseason graphic update has led to some concern. While most fans are aware that she is not currently under contract with the team, some supporters still cannot help but think about the prospect of losing Mitchell to free agency.

“Where is Kelsey Mitchell???!” demanded a fan.
While most supporters have remained optimistic that the Fever will negotiate a new deal with Mitchell in free agency, the fact of the matter is that nothing is official until she signs a new contract.
