The injury adds to the challenges facing a Commanders offense that has already dealt with personnel concerns. With third-year wide receiver Luke McCaffrey, who missed time last season with a fractured clavicle, another absence could leave Washington short of options.

The timing is also significant for quarterback Jayden Daniels. If White cannot play, Washington could lose a useful option for short passes and backfield support.
