The Cleveland Browns finally found a win in Week 2, and Jerry Jeudy had almost nothing to do with it. The 2024 Pro Bowler played through the whole game against Tampa Bay and came away with one target and zero catches, a number that says more about where he sits on the depth chart than anything about the scoreboard.
That kind of disappearing act is usually the first sign a receiver is available, and the Indianapolis Colts have real reason to be paying attention.
Why Indianapolis makes sense

Rookie Denzel Boston has taken over as Cleveland’s clear No. 1 option, catching five passes for 95 yards and a touchdown in the Browns’ win over the Jaguars, while fellow rookie KC Concepcion has settled in as the No. 2. Jeudy, who led the Browns in targets as recently as 2024 and was second in 2025, has been squeezed into what’s left.
He’s also not costing anyone much to acquire. Jeudy’s $1.5 million base salary this year is nearly nothing against the cap, making him an attractive trade prospect.
Indianapolis, meanwhile, still hasn’t fully replaced the production it gave up when it traded Michael Pittman Jr. to Pittsburgh in March. Colts WR Josh Downs was candid about the loss at the time.
“We’re losing a great player,” Downs told the team’s official website. “He has a good opportunity in Pittsburgh. I know he’s excited for it.”
Pittman missed the Steelers’ Week 2 loss against New England, and it’s clear both the Colts and the Steelers miss his production.
Indianapolis also just placed Pierce on injured reserve, keeping him out for at least the next four games.
Downs and Alec Pierce have carried the receiver room since, with Ashton Dulin and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine rounding things out. It’s a workable group, but it’s also thin behind the top two — exactly the kind of spot where a veteran with Jeudy’s résumé, even a diminished version of it, could slot in as a cheap depth add for a team that’s shown it can win games.
None of this means Cleveland is eager to move him. But with Jeudy’s role shrinking by the week and his price tag about as low as it gets on the trade market, it wouldn’t take much for the Browns to listen.
And for a receiver-needy team like the Colts to make the call.
