Colorado will enter the 2026 college football season trying to rebound from a 3-9 campaign.
The Buffaloes’ revamped offense will need all of its new playmakers healthy if Deion Sanders’ program is going to make an immediate jump, with the receiving corps being one of the biggest areas of change under new offensive coordinator Brennan Marion.
Several proven transfers have joined Buffalo, including three wideouts in DeAndre Moore Jr., Ernest Campbell, Kenny Perry and Danny Scudero.
What has complicated the adaptation process throughout the offseason is the fact that Moore Jr. and Joseph Williams have dealt with spring setbacks, while Scudero and Perry were sidelined during fall camp.

According to DNVR Sports’ Jake Schwanitz and Scott Procter, however, Scudero returned to practice Wednesday in a major step toward his full recovery.
Scudero was spotted on crutches, in a walking boot, and later riding a scooter earlier this month, as reported by Schwanitz. Perry also returned, with both receivers wearing yellow non-contact jerseys.
The development backs up Deion Sanders’ recent comments, showing confidence that Scudero would be available for Colorado’s Sept. 3 opener at Georgia Tech.
“Danny’s progressing. Some good news the other day,” Sanders said earlier in camp. “We’re optimistic. We’re hoping he’s going to return sooner than later. He’s most definitely going to play against Georgia Tech for sure. If I know Danny, he’s definitely going to do that.”
Scudero arrived in Boulder after a breakout season at San Jose State, where he led the country with 1,291 receiving yards on 88 catches and scored 10 touchdowns while earning All-American honors.
Perry, meanwhile, brings proven production to Colorado after posting 976 yards and six touchdowns on 43 receptions at Miami (Ohio).
Scudero has not yet returned to full-contact work, but getting back onto the field represents a significant improvement from where his status stood earlier in August.
The Buffalos are set to start their campaign with a matchup against Georgia Tech on Thursday, Sept. 3.
