If Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd had control over the Pittsburgh Steelers, his first move would be to part ways eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker T.J. Watt.
Earlier this week, the Cleveland Browns officially hit the reset button by trading All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, 2028 second-round pick and 2029 third-round.
Cowherd believes it's time for the Steelers to copy their division rival and move on from their longtime pass rusher.
"Go get a first-round pick," Cowherd said. "T.J. Watt gets you a first round pick, it's not that difficult. The Giants got a top-10 pick for Dexter Lawrence off an off-season. The Ravens were going to give up two first-round picks for Maxx Crosby."

Watt is under contract through the 2028 season. His base salary for this upcoming season is set to be $32 million, which is pretty expensive for a player who had just seven sacks in 2025.
Trading away Watt would at least give the Steelers more assets to potentially stock up on young defensive talent.
"They're the worst poker players in the world. Right now they have the second-oldest and the most expensive defense. Nothing disqualifies you more for a Super Bowl than an old and expensive defense... Guys, evolve. Move off older players!"
The Steelers aren't interested in making a deal.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Steelers won't trade Watt this offseason. They're not expected to deal pass rusher Alex Highsmith either.
“My sense this year is [they will do] nothing,” Rapoport, via Behind the Steel Curtain. “I don’t get the sense Highsmith is going anywhere…T.J. Watt is not going anywhere this year. He is not. He is gonna play for the Pittsburgh Steelers.”
So there you have it, Steelers fans, Watt isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
