It’s only Week 2 of the NFL season, but Colin Cowherd is already frustrating fans with his takes on “The Herd.”
During this Wednesday’s episode of “The Herd,” the longtime radio host made the argument that Patrick Mahomes gets more help from the Kansas City Chiefs than Josh Allen does from the Buffalo Bills. He pointed out how Kenneth Walker had over 190 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns in his Chiefs debut.
“Patrick Mahomes didn’t play well and they [the Chiefs] hammered Denver,” Cowherd said. “Mahomes is running a race but it’s a relay race and Kenneth Walker ran the anchor leg. That’s what Josh Allen doesn’t have. Josh Allen played nearly a perfect game, yet if [Kamari] Lassiter holds onto that one throw in the end zone, Texans win. … Mahomes can give you a C-C+ game [and win]. I love Buffalo, but if Josh plays poorly, lights out – they’re not winning a big game.”
While an argument can be made that Mahomes gets more help than Allen, we’re not sure why Cowherd chose to ignore Bills running back James Cook. After all, he led the NFL in rushing yards (1,621) last season.

“Brother, the James Cook erasure and slander is unreal,” one person said in response to Cowherd’s rant.
“James cook has had three consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons. 1,621 last year,” a second person replied. “Is there a gas leak in the studio?”
“Colin has mastered this media stuff he has a new stance on everything everyday and ppl still fall for it,” another person commented.
Conflicting comments from Cowherd.
Despite questioning Buffalo’s supporting talent, Cowherd has Allen leading his team to the Super Bowl this season.
“I have Buffalo in the Super Bowl. So again, like the Bengals and the Giants, I have Buffalo in the Super Bowl. Offensive coach, a greater sensibility, feel, touch and nuance with their star quarterback, told you D.J. Moore would fit. They drafted a lot of defensive guys in the last couple of years. Let’s see if they can play,” Cowherd said Tuesday. “But two touchdown drives of 96-plus yards. I thought they were the best team I saw, considering the opposition. Nobody does that to the Texans’ defense. Nobody does that to DeMeco Ryans. I mean, be honest… nobody does that. Josh Allen and the Bills did.”
So are the Bills struggling to support their MVP quarterback or do they have enough talent to hoist the Lombardi Trophy? According to Cowherd, they check off both boxes.
