It’s still early in the 2026 NFL season, but Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd already knows which team is on the right track to becoming a title contender.
During this Tuesday’s episode of “The Herd,” the Las Vegas Raiders grabbed the No. 10 spot in Cowherd’s latest power rankings. He was very impressed by their Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints, which improved their record to 3-0.
Not only did Cowherd applaud Raiders first-year coach Klint Kubiak, he applauded the front office for building a roster that’s “one more draft away” from taking that next step.
“I think the Raiders look like a really, really well-coached team with one great edge rusher. Kirk Cousins, the only quarterback in the league with three touchdown passes each game. Brock Bowers, they’re putting him all over the field. He’s a nightmare. The defense leads the NFL in takeaways. We’ve said it before. You put a Ben Johnson, a Klint Kubiak, a smart offensive guy, you can turn things around quicker,” Cowherd said. “I think the Raiders look like a very, very well-coached team. They’re about one more draft away from being like a high-end team, but I like what I see. I think they’re legit.”

Chance to make a statement in Week 4.
Even though the Raiders have jumped out to a 3-0 start this season, NFL fans are still convinced they’re pretenders. A Week 4 win over the Kansas City Chiefs would certainly change that narrative.
The Raiders have gone 3-9 in their last 12 meetings against the Chiefs, so the odds won’t be in their favor this weekend.
CBS is sending its No. 1 broadcast duo of Jim Nantz and J.J. Watt to Allegiant Stadium for Sunday’s showdown between the Chiefs and Raiders.
