The Cleveland Browns were back on the practice field Wednesday after a few days away from the facility in Berea following last week’s 24-21 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football. As you remember, that was a costly game, as defensive tackle Mason Graham left the game due to knee and ankle ailments, while defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. also suffered an ankle injury.
As reported on Tuesday, the 21-day practice window opened for quarterback Dillon Gabriel (back), as well as defensive tackle Kalia Davis (quadriceps). Both players started the regular season on the reserve/injured list with a designation to return. The team now has 21 days to activate them, or lose the player for the remainder of the season.
No Practice for Mason Graham, Mike Hall Jr.
Both Graham and Hall were listed as DNP, or did not practice, on Wednesday. Graham is expected to miss time due to the injury he suffered against the Steelers, while there is a much better shot of Hall playing. Heck, he was carted off, and was questionable to return, only to come back and finish the game, racking up his first sack of the season.
In addition to Graham and Hall, defensive end Derek Barnett (ankle), offensive guard Teven Jenkins and wide receiver/kick returner Tylan Wallace (knee) were unable to practice. With Wallace being nicked up, that’s a good reason the team went out and re-signed wide receiver/kick returner James Proche II to the practice squad. He could be elevated for Week 5 against the Jets if Wallace is inactive.

As far as limited participants are concerned, Kalia Davis and safety Grant Delpit (shoulder) were each only able to practice on a limited basis. That’s been a familiar story for Delpit lately, but he has been able to fight through his injury to play, and to play well.
Gabriel was able to take part in a full practice session, his first since the preseason. Center/offensive guard Elgton Jenkins (concussion) was also listed as a full participant after being in the concussion protocol and missing the Week 4 win over the Steelers.
It appears Elgton Jenkins will be able to suit up on Sunday, barring any setbacks, but Teven Jenkins remains a concern. He suffered a back injury in the Wednesday practice prior to the Week 1 loss at Jacksonville, and he has missed four games as a result. Rookie Austin Barber has slid into the starting lineup and done an excellent job in his stead.
