Some fans in Ohio have reached their breaking point with Shedeur Sanders and his fan base.
The Cleveland Browns knew there would be a media frenzy the moment they selected Sanders with the 144th pick in last year’s draft. Although he hasn’t done anything controversial on or off the field, there’s animosity brewing between his fans and the media in Cleveland.
On Friday afternoon, Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan suggested that Sanders has “keyboard warriors” on his payroll who constantly argue with Browns reporters. That led to some fans claiming they want to fight Ruiter at Huntington Bank Field.
While there are sadly people who find this beef amusing, there are also rational sports fans who just want this drama to end – even if it means releasing Sanders.

“When he gets cut because of this nonsense I wonder who they’ll blame,” one fan wrote on X.
“Realistically a QB shouldn’t be cut due to fans squabbling with the media. If he’s bad on the field today he should be cut for that,” a second fan said.
“Shedeur stans will be SHOCKED when he gets cut eventually, and no other NFL team touches the guy,” another fan commented. “They’ll call it collusion, but in reality he’ll just be on the wrong side of the hot/crazy curve. Ironically, it won’t be his fault but primarily THEIRS.”
“Can we please just cut him?” a Browns fan asked.
Don’t expect the Browns to move on from Shedeur just yet.
Even if the Browns name Deshaun Watson their starter for Week 1, Sanders would most likely remain on the roster as the No. 2 option on the depth chart.
As for a decision on the starter, Browns coach Todd Monken told reporters that’s coming very soon.
“I do not anticipate the quarterback decision going past early in next week,” Monken said.
The Browns open the season on Sept. 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
