UFC legend Chuck Liddell has filed an emergency custody order in Los Angeles Superior Court, accusing his ex-wife, Heidi Northcott, of abducting their 14-year-old daughter, Guinevere. The emergency custody order filing, obtained by TMZ, requests that Guinevere be returned to Liddell and placed in his full custody pending a formal hearing.

The alleged abduction occurred on Wednesday, Aug. 19, shortly before Guinevere was scheduled to begin her first year of high school.

Liddell’s Court Filing

Liddell claims Northcott took Guinevere to her residence in Orange County after realizing her efforts to secure court permission to relocate both Guinevere and their 13-year-old daughter, Charlie, to Newport Beach would not be approved before the school year began.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion alleges his ex-wife had “no intent to return her” and has violated several other court orders regarding their children.

These violations include failing to use the court-approved co-parenting communication app, using the children as messengers, and not bringing Guinevere to her extracurricular activities.

In the court documents, Liddell expresses concern that Guinevere will miss her first week of school, including potentially losing her spot on the high school volleyball team she earned during summer tryouts.

He also argues that separating Guinevere from her sister Charlie, with whom she shares a close bond, is causing immense emotional strain for both children.

Liddell is requesting that the court grant him sole physical custody of both daughters and that any visitation for Northcott be monitored to prevent further manipulation or alienation of the children from him.

Northcott Denies Allegations

Heidi Northcott has vehemently denied the abduction allegations, telling TMZ that Guinevere “begged” to be taken from her Liddell’s home.

She told TMZ, “My door has always been open for my kids to see Chuck, and I never abducted anyone.”

Northcott accused Liddell of being controlling, saying, “For the past 5 years after our divorce, Chuck has been obsessed with staying in my life and trying to control me.”

She claimed that their children “don’t feel safe speaking up to him at this point.”

In her formal response to the court, shared by US Weekly, Northcott stated she does not consent to Liddell’s custody request and feels she is fighting on an uneven playing field in court.

“I am a full-time mother and do not have extra income,” she wrote in her response. “I have been financially bullied in court. This is partially why I had to fire my attorney. I cannot afford all the fees.”

She further claimed that Liddell’s actions have caused their daughter, Guinevere, to suffer “severe anxiety and mental distress,” alleging the teenager does not even want to play volleyball.

“She refuses to return to his house because she doesn’t feel safe with him,” Heidi wrote.

Northcott’s statement strongly opposes the concerns and claims raised in Liddell’s filing.

Liddell and Northcott History

This heated dispute follows a contentious and lengthy divorce process.

The former couple, who were married in 2011, finally finalized their divorce in April 2025, nearly four years after Liddell initially filed.

In October 2021, Liddell was arrested after both parties accused each other of intimate partner violence. Ultimately, according to ESPN, no charges were filed after the arrest.

A hearing on the emergency custody order is scheduled for Monday, August 24, where a judge will hear both sides of this deeply personal and conflicting family matter.
