Chris Broussard is among those calling out Justin Herbert for his behavior at Chargers training camp.
Herbert was spotted canoodling with his fiancee, pop star Madison Beer, earlier this week. While the interaction took place during a family greeting portion after practice, some still had issue with it.
Broussard, a Fox Sports 1 star, is among them.
“This could have led the show,” Broussard said. “This has to be a joke. Like, I mean, were they just doing that? Like, having fun? You can’t let that happen. I’m sorry. I get it. You’re in love and all that, but come on!”
Broussard made his comments during Wednesday’s First Things First.
“I like Justin Herbert, but what?!” Broussard said. “What is this?! I’m serious. What in the world is going on?”
He didn't hold back.
“That’s kissy-poo!” Broussard said. “That is not ‘you got something in your hair’ because it looks like he’s rubbing her hair, too, or something. I mean, that is footsy. […] Where’s [Chargers head coach Jim] Harbaugh? Where is he at? Mike McDaniel, I’ve been singing your praises all offseason! This is what you let happen? Come on. I’m serious. I’m not even trying to be funny.”
Pressure is mounting for Herbert in Broussard's mind.
“There’s one more guy that I just figured out is under pressure,” Broussard said. “The pressure just amped up, Justin! The pressure just ramped up! My goodness.”
Fox Sports 1 host Kevin Wildes agrees.
“Look, Justin Herbert has never performed well in a playoff game, OK?” Wildes said. “Something had to change. Boom! Engaged.”
Herbert and Beer announced their engagement earlier this summer.
The Chargers are set to open the 2026 NFL season on Sunday, Sept. 13 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. E.T.
