The Winter Olympics in Italy had a number of NFL fans watching snowboarder Chloe Kim take home a silver medal on the halfpipe - not out of any passion for snowboarding, but for her relationship with NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett.
Many NFL fans only learned midway through the Olympics that the top defender in the NFL is dating one of the most dominant snowboarders in the world. But they're in good company as Kim wasn't entirely sure who Garrett was before they met.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kim revealed that she mistakenly thought that she was going to meet a DJ with a similar sounding name - Martin Garrix - when she was first introduced to Garrett by a friend.
"I've known this friend for years," Kim said. "He was like I think I know a good guy for you."
Kim explained that she was taken to her first NFL game to meet him and expected him to be doing a halftime performance, only to learn that he was playing on the field. She didn't even understand that Garrett would only be out on the field for half the snaps, so was confused when he wasn't out with the Browns offense.
"Now I'm invested cause my boyfriend. I'm like 'Is he hurt? Why isn't he out there? Where's 95?'" she added with a laugh.

Kim & Garrett
Garrett needs little introduction. He recently broke the NFL single-season sack record with 23 and has 125.5 career sacks. Garrett is a seven-time Pro Bowler, a five-time First-Team All-Pro and a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year. At 125.5 career sacks, it's entirely possible that he can break the NFL's all-time sack record within the next five years if he continues to play at this incredible rate.
Kim is less known in NFL circles but is a legend in snowboarding. She is a three-time world champion on the halfpipe, an eight-time champion in the Winter X Games on the SuperPipe and has won numerous accolades for her dominance. At the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing she became the first woman in history to claim multiple gold medals in the halfpipe. She narrowly missed out on a third-straight gold in the final, losing to South Korea's Choi Ga-on by 2.25 points.
