The Kansas City Chiefs received positive injury news as they continue their 2026 training camp.
Cyrus Allen returned to training camp after suffering a leg injury the previous week. The 176th overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft emerged as one of the Chiefs’ biggest surprises in training camp.
Kansas City also welcomed back another key player at the wide receiver position. Xavier Worthy returned to practice on Monday after missing a week due to a sprained shoulder. A training camp video emerged showing the 23-year-old warming up with the squad.
The 5-foot-11 wide receiver is entering his third year in the NFL after playing three years with the Texas Longhorns.
In his two years with the Chiefs, he has played 31 games and made 26 starts. Worthy has a total of 101 receptions for 1,170 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Chiefs will conclude their training camp on Aug. 20. They have enough time to acclimate all players returning from injury, including star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The two-time NFL MVP is working his way back after injuring his ACL and LCL last season. With the return of Worthy and the other Kansas City wide receivers, it’ll help Mahomes get back to form.
Kansas City will open its 2026 NFL season on September 14 against the Denver Broncos. They are hoping to bounce back from their 6-11 record last season.
As for Worthy, he is looking to help Kansas City return to the postseason this year. The Chiefs missed the playoffs last season for the first time in the Mahomes QB1 era.
