The Kansas City Chiefs put together an underwhelming 2025 season. After three straight Super Bowl appearances, Kansas City went just 6-11, finishing third in the AFC West and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
Along with Patrick Mahomes tearing his ACL in Week 15, it was a season to forget. The offseason held several major questions for the Chiefs, with the biggest surrounding Travis Kelce's future. Not only is his contract set to expire, but there was speculation of retirement after 13 seasons in the NFL.
However, that was put to rest on Monday, as NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Kelce is expected to return to the Chiefs.

While the 11-time Pro Bowler is set to help Kansas City chase a fifth Super Bowl win, he'll be joined by a big addition.
While free agency begins on Wednesday, the legal tampering period opened on Monday, meaning teams and players can negotiate and even agree to contracts. The Chiefs quickly got to work, agreeing to terms with former Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
"Former Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III is signing with the Chiefs, sources tell The Insiders," Pelissero wrote. "A payday and a new home for the Super Bowl MVP on a deal negotiated by @davidcanter and @nessmugrabi of @aurasportsgroup."
Walker, a former second-round pick of the Seahawks, is coming off an impressive season. He appeared in all 17 regular-season games, rushing for 1,027 yards and five touchdowns. He also hauled in 31 receptions for 282 yards.
He was instrumental to Seattle's playoff success, winning Super Bowl MVP after rushing for 135 yards on 27 carries in the win over the New England Patriots. Walker also hauled in two receptions for 26 yards.
He joins the Chiefs, looking to completely revamp a weak rushing attack. Last season, Kansas City ranked 25th in rushing yards per game (106.6). The team also has running backs Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco set to hit free agency.
With Kelce returning and Walker at his disposal, Mahomes will have the tools needed to help the Chiefs return to Super Bowl form while recovering from a torn ACL.
