NFL icon Russell Wilson has reacted to Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes’ latest career milestone.
On Sunday, Mahomes and the Chiefs improved to 3-0 with a 24-10 win over the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium.
Mahomes led Kansas City, completing 20-of-24 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns.
Apart from maintaining an unblemished record to start the season, the three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time NFL MVP also surpassed NFL legend Tom Brady in the record books.
Mahomes now has the third-most regular-season wins by a quarterback through his first 10 seasons in the NFL, with 98. He now only trails Wilson (104) and Peyton Manning (105) in the category.
Wilson reacted to the development via a social media post. The 10-time Pro Bowler issued an unexpected request to Mahomes.
“Mahomesey… can u just retire real quick? 😂🤣😂- Peyton & I just asking for a favor,” Wilson wrote.
Mahomes returned from a torn ACL and LCL he suffered in December. He underwent surgery and attacked his rehab aggressively in order to be ready for Week 1 of the new season.
Mahomes has had a strong start to the campaign, already completing 67 of 98 passes for 812 yards and seven touchdowns through three games.
He has 14 games left to break Wilson and Manning’s record and further cement his status as one of the best QBs in NFL history.
With this latest win, the Chiefs are tied with the Las Vegas Raiders at the top of the AFC West. These two teams will put their undefeated records on the line in Week 4 as they meet on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium.
