Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a forgettable season in 2025. Individually, the two-time NFL MVP registered 315-of-502 completed passes for 3,587 yards, 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Mahomes also added 422 yards on the ground and five rushing TDs on 64 carries.
Mahomes’ efforts were far from enough to lead the Chiefs to success. Kansas City finished with a 6-11 record, missing the NFL playoffs for the first time since 2014.
To cap things off, Mahomes suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 15 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs lost that game, 16-13, officially eliminating them from postseason contention. To make matters worse, they also lost their cornerstone quarterback to a major injury.

Off the field, Mahomes kept busy in 2025. One of his biggest endeavors outside of football is his new restaurant, 1587 Prime. Mahomes opened the high-end steakhouse in September with Chiefs teammate and long-time friend Travis Kelce.
Unfortunately for Mahomes, the restaurant was hit with a federal lawsuit in February over its name. A sneaker and merchandise company named 1587 Sneakers sued Mahomes and Co. for an alleged trademark violation.
1587 Sneakers hoped to close down 1587 Prime by filing an emergency temporary restraining order. The good news for Mahomes is that the order has been denied.
“The judge ruled against 1587 Sneakers, finding the company waited too long after the restaurant opened to request emergency action,” a report from KCTV5 indicated. “The court also raised questions about whether jurisdiction held over a Kansas City-based restaurant.”
While this can be considered a win for Mahomes and his restaurant, this by no means ends the legal dispute. The lawsuit is still active, and the court may change the ruling later.
In the meantime, however, 1587 Prime will be able to continue with its operations.
As for Mahomes, he continues to rehab his knee ahead of the 2026 season. The objective for the Chiefs' QB is to be ready for Week 1 of the new campaign.
