Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have helped the Kansas City Chiefs remain perfect through Week 6 of the 2026 NFL season, jumping to 5-0 after a 23-6 win over Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers. Now, the Chiefs will look to make it six straight in Week 7’s edition of “Sunday Night Football,” hitting the road to face the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
Mahomes and Kelce have been a major part of Kansas City’s undefeated start in 2026. The former Texas Tech quarterback has completed 105-of-158 passes for 1,309 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions. And Kelce, 36, still remains one of Mahomes favorite targets in his 14th season, tallying 20 catches for team highs of 299 yards and two touchdowns.
And while the Chiefs didn’t make the playoffs during the 2025 season, Mahomes and Kelce still remain one of the top duos in the NFL.

Since Mahomes became Kansas City’s starting quarterback in 2018, the team has gone 101-37 in the regular season. They have also reached the playoffs in every season outside of 2025, winning three Super Bowls in five appearances. And despite still playing, Mahomes and Kelce have likely locked in their spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
On Wednesday, Mahomes sat down with the media and was asked about his connection with Kelce. The quarterback took reporters on a trip down memory lane to the 2018 season, revealing how he and Kelce developed an understanding of what each other is seeing on the field, allowing them to stay on the same page throughout games.
“It started in training camp that first year I was starting,” Mahomes said. “After every series he would ask me what I was seeing, why I wanted to throw it here. Through those conversations, I started understanding what he was seeing. Now he’s able to do a lot of freelancing in the offense because we are on the same page.”
Mahomes, Kelce and the Chiefs will face the Seahawks in Seattle on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET.
