Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs missed out on the NFL playoffs for the first time in 10 years, finishing the 2025 season with a 7-9-1 record. But Kelce, at the age of 36, continued to find success, recording team-highs of 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns, earning his 11th Pro Bowl nod in the process.
Despite clearly having some juice left in the tank, Kelce took time during the offseason to consider retirement, especially with his two-year, $34.25 million deal coming to an end. The former Cincinnati tight end ultimately chose to return for a 14th NFL season, signing a new one-year, $12 million deal with Kansas City at the start of free agency. However, even with Kelce back, that has not stopped the Chiefs from exploring additional help at tight end.

Oscar Delp, a 6-foot-5 tight end from Cumming, Georgia, was a four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class (247Sports), ranked as the top tight end and the No. 51 overall player. He received offers from several major programs, including Florida, Michigan and Alabama, but ultimately chose to play for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs, spending four seasons in Athens.
Delp spent his first two college seasons backing up current Las Vegas Raiders star Brock Bowers. However, in 2024, following Bowers’ departure to the NFL, Delp saw his role at Georgia increase. For his career, he recorded 70 catches for 854 yards and nine touchdowns. Now, the tight end is looking ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft, where he is ranked as the second-best tight end in the class by ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.
And regardless of Kelce’s return, the Chiefs, who hold the No. 9 pick in the 2026 draft, have shown interest in potentially selecting Delp with one of their later picks. In fact, on Friday, NFL reporter Arye Pulli revealed that Kansas City has scheduled a top-30 visit with Delp, joining six other NFL teams that have done the same.
"The #Chiefs will be hosting Georgia TE Oscar Delp on a top 30 visit prior to the NFL Draft. Delp was a 4 star recruit who shared a TE room with Brock Bowers. Career numbers. 854 receiving yards. 9 touchdowns."
The 2026 NFL Draft is set to begin on Thursday, April 23, and will run through Saturday, April 25.
