Travis Kelce is back with the Kansas City Chiefs for another season. The 36-year-old is entering his 14th NFL season, and it appears his approach around the team has not changed much.
Kelce remains one of the most recognizable players on the roster. He has spent years in head coach Andy Reid’s offense and knows what it takes to navigate the demands of Kansas City’s training camp.
Kelce, who contemplated retirement at the end of the 2025 season, will hope to win his fourth Super Bowl championship with the franchise. Alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes on a revamped offense under offensive coordinator Eric Bienemy, the Chiefs will be counting on the superstar duo to contend for another title.

On Monday, Reid addressed Kelce’s approach in training camp and made it clear that the veteran’s personality can benefit the younger players around him.
“He’s great for the young guys. He shares that energy with them. He’s not afraid to get on guys,” Reid said, via A to Z Sports’ Charles Goldman.
The Chiefs will depend on Kelce for more than leadership, too. He remains a major part of Mahomes’ offense after recording 76 catches for 851 yards and three touchdowns last year.
Kelce has also looked comfortable during this year’s camp. Reid confirmed the veteran tight end returned in good shape and pushed back against outside discussion about the tight end’s physical condition.
Kansas City will continue its preparations through the remainder of camp before opening its preseason against the Los Angeles Rams on Aug. 15.
