Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs secured their fifth win of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers, maintaining their perfect record with a 22-6 score. However, Kansas City had to get the job done without wide receiver Rashee Rice, who remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Rice initially injured his hamstring during the Chiefs’ Week 4 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 4. He exited that game in the first quarter and missed Kansas City’s subsequent game against the Chargers.
The Chiefs are getting ready for another primetime showdown on Sunday, facing the defending Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks. However, quarterback Patrick Mahomes may have to keep leading the offense without Rice.

Reid announced Wednesday that Rice will not practice as he continues recovering from the hamstring injury (h/t Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest). The Chiefs coach indicated that the receiver is making progress, but Rice’s recovery remains something to monitor as Kansas City determines whether he can return against Seattle.
Right tackle Jaylon Moore will also miss Wednesday’s practice while dealing with a concussion. His availability is another issue for Kansas City to monitor ahead of the weekend.
Rice has recorded 13 receptions for 190 yards and one touchdown in his first four appearances this season. Kansas City will hope to have him back in time as it looks to maintain its momentum.
The Chiefs visit the Seahawks at Lumen Field on “Sunday Night Football.” Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET, with coverage on NBC and live streaming available on Peacock.
