Indiana Fever star Kelsey Mitchell drew plenty of reactions with her latest social media post, including from Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud.
Mitchell received the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month honor for August after averaging 28.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 11 games during that span. She also made history during the past month, as she set a new mark for the longest 20-point streak in the WNBA, now at 24 games.
Following the recognition, Mitchell shared a message on social media, highlighting her quiet, disciplined and self-reliant mindset. The Fever scorer has always been a player who keeps her focus and doesn’t get complacent, and she emphasized that perfectly with her post.
Several Fever players and her fellow WNBA peers showed their love and admiration for Mitchell in the comments section of her post. Among those who absolutely loved her message was Cloud, who had a simple but powerful comment.
“Really like that,” Cloud wrote.

Cloud’s message of support is particularly interesting because of the rivalry between the Sky and the Fever. Matchups between the two teams have been intense over the past few years, and that hasn’t changed this season.
In fact, when the Fever and Sky met on Aug. 8, Sky guard DiJonai Carrington was ejected after a hard foul on Sophie Cunningham. In the same game, Cloud was assessed a technical foul after arguing with a referee.
Despite the rivalry between the two teams, it’s clear that Cloud’s respect for her peers extends beyond the court.
