Chicago Sky star Kamilla Cardoso had her best year yet in the WNBA in 2026, averaging career highs across the board. In 43 games during the season, she averaged 14.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks.
Cardoso led the Sky in rebounds and was also their leading scorer and shot-blocker after Rickea Jackson suffered a torn ACL earlier in the campaign.
While the Sky finished with a 16-28 record and failed to make the playoffs once again, there’s no denying that Cardoso gave Chicago a reason to believe in the team and be optimistic about its future.
Amid the offseason, Cardoso continues to earn recognition as well. On Wednesday, popular Latino publication HOLA! named the Sky star one of its 100 Latina Powerhouses, alongside other notable sports figures, including WNBA legend Diana Taurasi and pro MMA fighter and boxer Amanda Serrano.

“Cardoso arrived in the WNBA with a national championship résumé and plenty of expectation. Now in her third season with the Chicago Sky, the 6-foot-7 Brazilian center is beginning to make the league her own,” HOLA! wrote about Cardoso.
“In 2026, she reached a new level, delivering the strongest season of her WNBA career and establishing herself as one of Chicago’s key players. A career-high 30-point performance became one of the defining moments of her season, underscoring her evolution from a promising young center to an emerging force in the league.”
Cardoso, for her part, expressed her appreciation to HOLA! after learning of the recognition. She shared the news on her Instagram Stories, along with a simple but heartfelt message.
“So honored to be named one of the 2026 Latina Powerhouses. Thank you @holausa,” Cardoso wrote.
Considering how Cardoso has grown in the WNBA over the past few years, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her appear on the HOLA! list once again in the years to come.
