Sydney Taylor was a bright spot for the Chicago Sky during the 2026 season, as she established herself as a key contributor to the team and a potential franchise cornerstone.
Taylor, who went undrafted in 2024 before the Sky gave her a chance in the 2026 offseason, averaged 13.6 points on 41.9% shooting, along with 1.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
After the regular season ended, the WNBA named the 25-year-old guard to the All-Rookie Team, along with Minnesota Lynx All-Star Olivia Miles, Dallas Wings sharpshooter Azzi Fudd, Seattle Storm scorer Flau’jae Johnson, New York Liberty guard Pauline Astier and Toronto Tempo rising star Kiki Rice.

Taylor’s milestones didn’t end there, though. Most recently, Team USA selected the Sky guard to join its roster for the 2026 FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup tournament in El Salvador. Seattle’s Johnson, as well as WNBA players Aziaha James and Aerial Powers complete the national team.
Taylor has previously played 3×3 basketball for Team USA, having joined the squad in the 3×3 Women’s Series in both 2023 and 2024. She was also part of the USA lineup that competed in the 2023 FIBA 3×3 Nations League.
Following the announcement, the Sky made sure to celebrate Taylor’s Team USA selection.
“Sydney Taylor is headed to El Salvador to represent Team USA on the 3×3 AmeriCup team,” the Sky wrote. “Good luck, Syd!”
The FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup will kick off on Oct. 28 in San Salvador, El Salvador and will last until Nov. 1. Sure enough, it will be interesting to see how Taylor performs in the competition.
Aside from the 3×3 AmeriCup, Taylor is also set to play in the 3-on-3 league Unrivaled in January.
