The Chicago Sky could not make it two wins in a row when they hosted the Indiana Fever at United Center on Saturday. Indiana held on for a 90-86 victory after Chicago mounted a late comeback, leaving the Sky with another frustrating loss.
The game also featured plenty of controversy. DiJonai Carrington was ejected in the first quarter after officials upgraded her foul on Sophie Cunningham to a Flagrant 2.
Carrington’s dismissal gave the Sky a tougher hill to climb with the team already playing without Sydney Taylor, who was sidelined for the second straight game with a left groin injury.

Taylor is Chicago’s leading scorer this season, averaging 14.7 points per game while adding 1.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
Sky fans had hoped to see her back in action as the team hit the road to face the Seattle Storm on Monday. However, they’ll have to wait until after Chicago’s next game.
The Sky announced that Taylor has been ruled out for against Seattle Storm because of her groin injury.
The Sky signed Taylor in April, and she quickly earned a place on the team’s opening-day roster. Her absence comes with Chicago trying to keep its playoff hopes alive.
The Sky fell to 12-20 after Saturday’s loss and sit 11th in the WNBA. Chicago still remains in the race for a postseason berth, sitting 6.5 games behind the eighth-place Dallas Wings. But the margin for error is getting smaller with 12 games remaining in the regular season.
Without Taylor, the Sky will again need Natasha Cloud, Kamilla Cardoso and Carrington to shoulder more of the offensive load against Seattle.
The Storm enter Monday on an 11-game losing streak, giving Chicago an opportunity to stop its own slide and gain ground in the playoff race.
