The Italian Grand Prix at Monza had a dramatic start on Sunday for Charles Leclerc, who crashed out of the race in his Ferrari.
Leclerc was one of the leading drivers at the front of the pack. The Ferrari driver tried to hold on to his spot, but lost control and crashed into the barriers, causing a red flag and halting the race for a while. Leclerc walked away from the wrecked car unharmed, but the crash put an end to his chances of a big win in front of the Tifosi.
Before the crash Leclerc also had a racing incident with teammate Lewis Hamilton.
What Caused Charles Leclerc’s Crash at Monza’s Parabolica?
It occurred on lap 3 when Piastri was trying to pass Leclerc. When the two cars entered the high-speed area of the circuit, the Ferrari driver was trying to hold on to his spot.
Leclerc seemed to lose control of the SF-26 as he attempted to maintain a distance between him and Piastri. The Ferrari then drove towards the barriers and crashed heavily at high speed. The impact was estimated at approximately 130 mph, which is just how serious the accident appeared from the outside.

There is no sign at this point that the crash was due to a mechanical failure. The immediate cause of the accident is suggested by the available reports, which indicate that the race was lost by Leclerc as he was defending.
Ferrari were in the race for the win in their home race. Leclerc had been very strong earlier in the weekend, leading FP1 and finishing sixth in FP3. He also finished fourth in qualifying after Ferrari bounced back from a poor Q2.
