The San Francisco 49ers aren’t the only team dealing with a slew of injuries right now. The Los Angeles Chargers had a joint practice with them today and promptly got bit by the injury bug.

According to reports, three players for the Charges all went down with injuries during practice today. The injured included starting center Tyler Biadasz, starting wide receiver Quentin Johnston and second-year linebacker Kyle Kennard.

“During one practice today against the 49ers, Chargers center Tyler Biadasz, linebacker Kyle Kennard and wide receiver Quentin Johnston all were injured,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

“The Substation”

The practice was held in Southern California rather than at the 49ers’ practice field near Levi’s Stadium, so NFL fans couldn’t exactly blame the infamous electrical substation that people have claimed is causing the 49ers’ rash of injuries.

That didn’t stop them from trying:

“They can take the 49ers out of the substation, but they can’t take the substation out of the 49ers,” one user on X declared.

“The electrical substation is contagious,” another joked.

“BREAKING: The Santa Clara electrical substation is now traveling with the 49ers for road games. Something to monitor, as the substation was previously thought to be immobile,” a third wrote.

Substation or no substation, the Chargers are going to have to cross their fingers that these injuries aren’t serious. Johnston looked rough, coming up limping from a leaping catch on the sidelines and needing trainers to work on his lower body.

But Biadasz might’ve gotten the worst of it as he needed the medical cart to come out after 49ers defensive tackle Sebastian Valdez fell on his left knee.

Kennard reportedly limped out of practice with a trainer.

The 49ers and Chargers are both expected to be in the mix for playoff spots and possibly even Super Bowl runs if they can both stay healthy. But that’s looking like an especially big “if” right now.
