The Los Angeles Chargers have not yet determined who'll be their offensive coordinator for the 2026 season, and yet, their fans are already worried for Justin Herbert.
Despite entering the opening round of the playoffs with an 11-6 record, Herbert and the Chargers were dominated by the New England Patriots. The talented quarterback had just 159 passing yards and failed to find the end zone in a 16-3 loss.
A few days after the Chargers got bounced out of the postseason, Jim Harbaugh fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman. He claims this move was made because Los Angeles' offensive scheme needs a fresh start.
"There was much that was done well, much that was done really good. Multiple line combinations, that was true. It was very hard, very tough. The NFL is unforgiving, it's unfair, it's hard, that's the nature of the business," Harbaugh said. "What we feel like is a direction that's going to make us better, we're always striving for that."

According to reports, the Chargers have interviewed former Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan for their offensive coordinator opening.
Callahan was fired by the Titans after a 1-5 start to the 2025 season. He went 4-19 during his brief time in Tennessee. Prior to getting that job, he spent five years as the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Would this be a downgrade?
Judging by some of the responses online, Chargers fans are strongly against Callahan joining Harbaugh's staff. They claim he'd be far worse than Roman.
"Please no," a Chargers fan said in response to the news.
"Impressive, they found someone worst than Greg Roman," a second fan commented.
"Yeah, no thanks," another fan wrote.
For what it's worth, the Chargers ranked 12th in yards per game and 20th in points per game this season.
If the Chargers truly want to take that next step towards becoming Super Bowl contenders, it's imperative that Harbaugh hires the right offensive play-caller.
