Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb welcomed the chance to recover after a stretch that required the team to play three games in 11 days. He said players have little choice.
“Three games in 11 days, that’s not really ideal for the NFL,” Lamb told Fort Worth Star-Telegram reporter Nick Harris. “But at the end of the day, that’s what the NFL asks and everybody in the NFL has to go through that.”
Lamb said the team used its free weekend to rest. He acknowledged that Dallas cannot avoid difficult scheduling stretches, even when quick turnarounds make recovery harder.
The Cowboys’ demanding run included a game in Brazil, a road trip to Houston and a Thursday night matchup with Tampa Bay. The travel and compressed schedule added to the physical demands of the stretch.
Lamb said Dallas will face this type of schedule twice this season. He stressed the need to prepare rather than dwell on the difficulty.
The break gave Dallas an opportunity to recover before its next matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Lamb’s status merits attention after he dealt with a thigh bruise, although he was expected to play.

Lamb remains central to the Cowboys’ passing attack, making his health important as Dallas looks to rebound from its loss to Tampa Bay. Keeping him available would give quarterback Dak Prescott a key target against Green Bay.
Lamb did not present the schedule as an excuse. His comments acknowledged the strain while accepting that players must manage the league’s calendar.
Dallas will face another demanding stretch later this season. The Cowboys need their break to translate into better execution as they try to improve their position in the NFC East.
