CeeDee Lamb is preparing for another NFL season with the Dallas Cowboys, but the star wide receiver recently dealt with an unfortunate situation away from the football field.
Lamb’s Fairview, Texas, home was burglarized on July 30 while he was away with the Cowboys at training camp in Oxnard, California. According to police records, the intruder entered through a broken window and stole four luxury bags valued at approximately $300,000. No suspects have been publicly identified, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Unfortunately, his experience is not an isolated one among NFL stars, with similar incidents involving Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders highlighting a growing security concern for professional athletes.
Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce Faced Similar Situations

Mahomes’ Kansas City-area home was burglarized on Oct. 5, 2024, while the Chiefs were preparing to play the New Orleans Saints on “Monday Night Football.” Travis Kelce’s home was targeted two days later, and authorities later linked the cases to an alleged South American theft group that targeted professional athletes.
The incidents eventually resulted in arrests, with authorities alleging that the group targeted athletes when they were away from home or playing games.
Shedeur Sanders Was Targeted During His NFL Debut
Sanders experienced an even more startling version of the same problem during his first NFL start. While the Browns rookie was playing against the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 16, 2025, three masked suspects allegedly broke into his Ohio home.
Approximately $200,000 in property was stolen, including luxury bags, totes and a ring. Four men, including a driver, were eventually charged in connection with the burglary, with authorities saying the suspects traveled from the Atlanta area to Ohio and used a stolen rental car.
The NFL Is Taking Athlete Home Burglaries Seriously
The NFL has already acknowledged the growing threat. Following the wave of burglaries involving Mahomes, Kelce and other athletes in 2024, the league warned teams and players about organized groups targeting athletes and urged them to strengthen home security and limit information shared publicly about their whereabouts.
More than a year later, Lamb’s burglary is a reminder that the issue remains rampant.
