Paris Johnson Jr. will miss the rest of the season after the Arizona Cardinals received a devastating update on their starting left tackle.
Johnson suffered a biceps injury during Sunday’s Week 4 matchup and remained on the field for several plays despite the issue. Further imaging revealed the full extent of the injury.
The Cardinals now have to adjust their offensive line after losing one of their most important pieces.
“Brutal loss for the #AZCardinals: LT Paris Johnson Jr. tore his biceps and is out for the season,” NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported. “Johnson stayed in the game for a few plays after getting hurt. Didn’t want to come out.”
Johnson was selected No. 6 overall by Arizona in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. He moved to left tackle and became an important part of the protection in front of quarterback Kyler Murray.
The injury leaves Arizona with a significant hole at one of the most important positions on the offensive line. Jonah Williams is expected to be among the players considered for the replacement role.
The Cardinals also have other health concerns along the offensive line, making Johnson’s absence even more significant as the season moves forward.

Arizona enters Week 5 at 1-3 and will face the San Francisco 49ers next. The Cardinals will now have to find a way to protect Murray without their starting left tackle.
Johnson’s decision to remain in the game after suffering the injury showed his willingness to fight through adversity. Unfortunately for Arizona, the diagnosis means that toughness will not put him back on the field this season.
