When the Arizona Cardinals drafted Marvin Harrison Jr. in 2024, he was considered a “can’t miss prospect.” Two years later, it’s fair to wonder if we’ve already seen the best version of him in the NFL.
After having 62 catches for 885 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie, Harrison only appeared in 12 games during his second season. The Ohio State product hauled in 41 passes for 608 yards and four scores. Most fans assumed he’d benefit from having a new play-caller at his disposal. With that being said, the Cardinals hired an innovative mind in Mike LaFleur.
Although we’re only two games into the 2026 season, Harrison has been a non-factor in LaFleur’s offense. He’s been targeted four times and has just one reception for 33 yards.

Some fans have accused Harrison of showing zero effort on the field this season. LaFleur, however, claims that’s not the case at all.
“I don’t see it that way. I think his running style is different than some other people’s — I would say that,” LaFleur said, via Pro Football Talk. “If that’s people’s narrative on him, that’s fine, but I know his teammates don’t feel that way.”
Still time for Marvin to turn things around.
Even though Harrison hasn’t lived up to the hype, he’s still just 24 years old. With 15 games left this season, LaFleur is hopeful that his potential-packed wideout will bounce back.
“It’s a long season — we’re two games in,” LaFleur said. “There were some opportunities yesterday that I thought that either the defense dictated that it couldn’t go there or just self-inflicted wounds — it was kind of 50-50.”
The Cardinals will face the 49ers this Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET.
