The Vancouver Canucks put together a very solid core when they won the Pacific Division in 2023-24, but since then, it's only been downhill for the entire organization.
This past season, things hit rock bottom in Vancouver, with the team finishing last in the NHL with a 25-49-8 record, while also trading captain and franchise face Quinn Hughes to the Minnesota Wild. Unfortunately, all of that led to the No. 3 overall pick in the draft, with the team making some big changes in the front office as their rebuild officially rolls on.
Recently, the organization announced Henrik & Daniel Sedin and Ryan Johnson to roles as co-presidents and general manager of the franchise respectively, and now, they've announced another major decision.

After just one season behind the bench following the team parting ways with Rick Tocchet, the Canucks have now reportedly fired head coach Adam Foote, who struggled to get the best out of this team throughout 2025-26.
As reported by TSN's Darren Dreger, the team aren't stopping there, as they are reportedly making several more changes to the coaching staff as they look to transform the present and the future of the Canucks organization.
Given how thorough the Canucks were with their search for a new general manager and their available roles in the front office, it's unlikely that we'll see a new head coach announced in Vancouver in the next few days. With Manny Malhotra down in the AHL, there's already obvious answers, but with the team looking to build a legitimate contender for years to come, we will see what they can come up with.
