Although he was traded late in his career, Carey Price only played for one franchise, the Montreal Canadiens, throughout his entire 15-year NHL run.
Price became the franchise’s winningest goaltender with 361 wins in 712 games, and one of the most decorated players of his generation, racking up individual awards and earning one All-Star nomination.
The netminder will receive one of hockey’s highest honors on Nov. 9, when Price becomes the 62nd member of the Canadiens organization inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
On Tuesday, Montreal announced that the celebration will continue just 24 hours later in an event that will link the goalie to the Habs forever.

Price will return to Bell Centre on Nov. 10 and have his name officially added to the Canadiens’ Ring of Honor during an on-ice ceremony before Montreal hosts the Minnesota Wild.
“The former Canadiens goalie will officially become the 62nd member of the organization to be inducted into the Hall of Fame during a ceremony on Nov. 9 in Toronto,” the Canadiens’ statement said. “He will then see his name added to the Bell Centre’s Ring of Honor the following night as part of an on-ice celebration in Montreal.”
The Ring of Honor recognizes Canadiens players, builders and staff members who have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Price will follow Shea Weber, who was added in 2024, and Pierre Turgeon, in 2023, as the third member of the franchise to join the Ring of Honor this decade.
Price appeared in 712 regular-season games for Montreal between 2007 and 2022, posting a 2.51 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage while setting franchise records among goaltenders for games played and victories.
His defining individual season came in 2014-15, when Price captured the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP, the Vezina Trophy as the league’s top goaltender and the Ted Lindsay Award, while sharing the William M. Jennings Trophy. He later won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy in 2022.
On the international stage, Price also won Olympic gold with Canada in 2014, having already won gold at the 2007 World Junior Championship.
Although Price didn’t play a game after the 2022 season, he remained in the Habs’ payroll and was eventually traded to the San Jose Sharks, where he finished his career in 2025.
