Inter Miami and Cruz Azul meet in the Campeones Cup at Nu Stadium in Florida tonight.
The matchup brings together the champions of MLS and Liga MX for a one-off showdown for the trophy.
Inter Miami enters the game looking to add another piece of silverware after being eliminated from both the Leagues Cup and the Concacaf Champions Cup.
The match also marks the first game for new manager Cristian “Kily” González on the sidelines. The Argentine’s arrival at the club was delayed because of visa complications.
The last meeting between the two clubs came during the 2023 Leagues Cup, when Inter Miami secured a 2-1 victory. Robert Taylor opened the scoring before Lionel Messi added the decisive goal in his debut for the Herons.
Inter Miami Current Form
The Herons have endured an inconsistent run of results in recent weeks. Across their last seven matches, Miami has recorded just one victory while suffering defeats against Nashville SC and Toronto FC.
Their lone win came in a dominant 7-1 victory over CF Montréal. Aside from that result, however, Inter Miami has struggled to put together consistent performances.

The winner of the 2026 Campeones Cup between Inter Miami and Cruz Azul will reportedly receive a $100,000 victory bonus.

Meanwhile, Inter Miami’s players are set to split a guaranteed $240,000 participation pool for the match.
For comparison, Toluca reportedly received around 2 million Mexican pesos, or approximately $117,000, after winning the 2025 Campeones Cup against the LA Galaxy. However, official prize-money figures for the 2026 edition have not been publicly announced by the tournament organizers.
