Cameron Brink has been a great backup forward for the Los Angeles Sparks this 2026 season. The second overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft is having the best year of her young career, averaging 9.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.
Brink is fifth in the league in blocks, highlighting her defensive impact for the Sparks even though she has started in only one game for the team.
In an unfortunate turn of events, however, Brink suffered an injury during Monday's game against the Golden State Valkyries. Late in the fourth quarter, the 24-year-old big limped toward the sidelines but took a seat even before she made it to the bench. She was helped by her teammates, but it was unclear what had happened to her.
After the game, head coach Lynne Roberts said Brink was being evaluated; however, no further updates were given, per Kendra Andrews of ESPN.

Is Cameron Brink Playing Today in Sparks vs. Lynx?
Due to Brink's latest injury, there were naturally concerns about her status for the Sparks' game against the Minnesota Lynx on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, the Sparks officially ruled out Brink for the game. In its injury report, Los Angeles cited a left ankle injury as the reason for the former Stanford star's designation.
The Sparks are 7-7 on the season and are eighth in the WNBA standings. That being said, Brink's absence is certainly a huge blow to the team as it tries to stay in the playoff hunt.
Making matters worse, the Sparks are facing the top-seeded Lynx that boast dangerous scorers in Olivia Miles, Natasha Howard, Courtney Williams and Kayla McBride.
With Brink sidelined, the Sparks will have to rely on Nneka Ogwumike, Rae Burrell and Dearica Hamby to carry a heavier workload against the Lynx.
