New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo played in his first game against the Minnesota Vikings since his injury last year.
Skattebo made his much-anticipated return to the field after fully recovering from a severe right ankle dislocation that required surgery.
On Saturday, New York welcomed Minnesota at MetLife Stadium for their preseason opener, and Skattebo started for the team.
Skattebo’s girlfriend, Chloe Rodriguez, was hyped to see her man playing again, as she shared her three-word reaction on her Instagram story.
“We’re so back 💙@sk4ttp4ck,” Rodriguez wrote.
In her post, Rodriguez posted a picture kissing the former Arizona State star while on the sidelines.
Rodriguez has been supportive of Skattebo’s career since they started dating in 2022 when they were still in college.
The Giants dropped their game against the Vikings, 13-10, and Skattebo finished with four carries for 19 yards.
Before he got injured last season, the rookie had solid numbers for New York with 101 carries for 410 yards and five touchdowns in eight games.
Skattebo and the Giants are looking to improve on their 4-13 record from last season and potentially reach the playoffs for the first time since 2022.
The team made big moves during the offseason, including hiring John Harbaugh as their new head coach. Furthermore, they signed Isaiah Likely, Patrick Ricard, Odell Beckham Jr. and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
