New York Giants fans are worried about star running back Cam Skattebo heading into the 2026 NFL regular season.
Skattebo, who is coming off a serious knee injury, tried and failed to do a backflip at Fanatics Fest in New York City over the weekend.
The 24-year-old running back, who rushed for 410 yards and five touchdowns in eight games, attempted the backflip during an appearance at Fanatics Fest in New York City on Saturday.
"I can’t even imagine John Harbaughs reaction to seeing this LOL," one fan wrote in a video that has 11.6 million views.
In the video, Skattebo pulls up his pant leg, to show off his surgery scars, before attempting a backflip. The backflip didn't land, though, as Skattebo fell backwards, before yelling and pumping up the crowd.
NFL fans were worried
NFL fans are worried that he'll hurt himself before the season.
"This guy makes Gronk look like an astrophysicist," one fan joked.
"Honestly, this guy might be the dumbest NFL player to ever live.. including Antonio Brown," one fan added.
"I'm disappointed, not mad," one fan added.
Skattebo 'promises' that he won't get hurt
Skattebo, speaking later at Fanatics Fest, addressed the growing concerns surrounding his injury concerns.
“I will not hurt myself before the season," he promised.
Of course, no one can really make that promise, especially if you're doing backflips on a slippery stage.
Giants fans have reason to worry about Skattebo, given his injury history and, now, his behavior off of the field.
But hopefully for New York and the rest of the NFL world, Skattebo will remain healthy and fully recovered, heading into the 2026 NFL regular season. The Giants and the Cowboys will square off on 'Sunday Night Football' in Week 1. The game will air on NBC.
