The Chicago Bears have had plenty to feel good about as training camp continues at Halas Hall. Caleb Williams has looked confident running Ben Johnson's offense, now entering his second season working with the coordinator, and Chicago is coming off a 9-8 record in 2025 that has the team feeling better equipped for 2026.
The offensive line has emerged as one of the roster's strengths, with Darnell Wright recently signing a major extension, and the Bears return enough weapons on offense to give opposing defenses plenty to prepare for.
Rookies played a real role in last year's success, with four different first-year players finding the end zone, wide receivers Luther Burden III and Jahdae Walker among them. Burden has continued to stand out through camp, which made Saturday's injury a tough break.

He collided awkwardly with cornerback Tyrique Stevenson during one-on-one drills and did not return to practice. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Burden suffered an unspecified groin injury and is expected to miss some time, a development that could temporarily keep one of Williams' key weapons off the field.
"Bears WR Luther Burden III suffered a groin injury recently in practice and should miss a little bit of time, source says," Rapoport wrote. "One to keep an eye on."
The news is a cause for concern for Williams and the Bears, especially with so much expected from Burden this season.
Chicago is counting on him to step into the No. 2 receiver role next to Rome Odunze after moving on from DJ Moore.
Burden's path to the league was not exactly what he envisioned. He fell to the second round despite believing he would hear his name called in the first.
Still, his rookie season showed why many had viewed him as a first-round talent, with Burden making big plays consistently and saving one of his best performances for late in the year against the San Francisco 49ers.
