Caleb Foster has watched on as Cam Boozer and the No. 1 seed Duke Blue Devils have advanced to the Sweet 16 of the 2026 NCAA Tournament, where they will face Rick Pitino and the No. 5 seed St. John's Red Storm on Friday. Duke got regional semifinals after taking down No. 16 seed Siena Saints 71-65 in the first round, before defeating No. 9 seed TCU Horned Frogs 81-58 in the round of 32.
Foster has been one of the Blue Devils' best players during his junior year. The 6-foot-5 guard out of Harrisburg, North Carolina, has started in all but one of his 31 games played, averaging 8.5 points on 44.2% shooting, 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. However, in the regular-season finale against UNC, Foster suffered a fractured right foot, leaving him out for the ACC Tournament and the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament.

While Foster continues to recover and hopes to return to Duke’s lineup at some point during the NCAA Tournament, the Blue Devils had major news to share about another star. On Tuesday, it was revealed that Boozer, Duke’s star freshman, won the Oscar Robertson Trophy, the USBWA’s men’s college basketball player of the year award.
Boozer has led the Blue Devils this season with 22.4 points, 10.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. He also becomes the 10th Duke player to win the award, the most by any single college basketball program, joining names like Cooper Flagg (2025), J.J. Redick (2008), Shane Battier (1999) and Christian Laettner (1992).
"5th freshman to win the Oscar Robertson Trophy‼️👀👊," Duke wrote on Instagram. "Congrats Cam! 💪💪💪💪 @cameronboozer... 3 of 5 frosh winners from Duke. Back to back! 😈"
Foster reacted to the news by sharing Duke’s post about Boozer’s award on his Instagram Story, showing love to his star teammate.
Duke will face St. John's on Friday at 7:10 p.m. ET at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, eyeing a return to the Elite 8.
