Caitlyn Jenner, formerly Bruce Jenner of Team USA at the Summer Olympics, is speaking out amid the WNBA's controversies.
Two former NBA players have declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft. Enes Kanter and Royce White both declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft, as the league has yet to say if transgender athletes are eligible.
"I'm transgender. I'm a woman. I identify as sometimes identifying as a woman for purpose of basketball, professional basketball, so I'll be declaring for the WNBA draft in 2027 as well," White said.
"I think I’d be unstoppable. But I’m a team-first guy. I’m a pass-first kind of player. I do the little things. I led my team in all five major stat categories at Iowa State University, so I do a little bit of everything. I’ll do whatever the coach needs me to do. I’ll do whatever the girls need me to do...
"I think it’s only fair."

WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a league-wide memo that the controversies will be addressed and looked into by a task force.
"Our player eligibility rules, unlike the eligibility rules of some other leagues and governing bodies, are collectively bargained. Lastly, preserving the integrity of our game and ensuring fair competition will always remain among the league's highest priorities," the memo read.

According to Jenner, the answer to the WNBA's problems is "simple."
“I don’t want that to be ruined by letting biological men come in and play in women’s sports. XX you’re in, XY you’re out. You can go play with the men," she said.
There are not currently any transgender athletes competing in the WNBA.
