After Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston were voted as starters for the 2026 All-Star Game, Clark had one wish for the WNBA legends drafting the rosters: Keep the three of them together on the same team.
"Whoever is drafting, if you want to keep us on the same side, we'd appreciate that," Clark told reporters earlier this month.
Unlike in previous All-Star Games where the players with the highest fan votes served as captains and drafted their players to form the All-Star roster, the league took a different approach this year and instead selected Teresa Weatherspoon and Cynthia Cooper to be honorary general managers.
The WNBA announced Weatherspoon and Cooper's All-Star roster selections on Wednesday. Unfortunately for Clark, she didn't get her wish.

Weatherspoon selected Clark to be on her team, while Cooper took Mitchell, officially splitting the two teammates. The good news for Clark is that Weatherspoon also selected Boston.
For what it's worth, Clark previously said that she would likely be the one left out and that Boston and Mitchell would be on the same team.
Clark will have plenty of strong teammates, though. Completing Team Spoon's starters are A'ja Wilson, Olivia Miles and Jessica Shepard. The squad's reserves are Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray, Jonquel Jones, Courtney Williams, Kiki Iriafen and Nneka Ogwumike.
Team Coop, meanwhile, features Paige Bueckers, Breanna Stewart, Natasha Howard, Gabby Williams and Mitchell as its starters. Its reserves are Angel Reese, Marina Mabrey, Dominique Malonga, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young and Sonia Citron.
The 2026 WNBA All-Star Game will be held at the United Center in Chicago on July 25. Clark's team will be coached by Cheryl Reeve of the Minnesota Lynx, while Bueckers' team will be coached by Becky Hammon of the Las Vegas Aces.
