A wild game between Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky ended with multiple people receiving technical fouls including Clark herself. But after apparently reviewing the incident that triggered the foul, the league has decided to rescind it.
According to Yahoo Sports, the technical foul Clark received for bumping a referee after tripping during a play has been rescinded. As a result, she has not picked up her eighth technical foul of the season (yet) and will not be suspended for the Fever's August 11 game against the New York Liberty.
"Caitlin Clark's technical foul given during the Fever's game vs. the Sky on Saturday has been rescinded by the league, per multiple reports. Clark will no longer have a one-game suspension and can play Tuesday against the Liberty," Yahoo reported.
That also bodes well for her head coach, Stephanie White, who was also slapped with a technical foul and placed at risk of suspension for confronting the referee over Clark's foul.
The Fever went on to win the game, 90-86.
Not good enough?
For many of Clark's fans, it wasn't enough for her foul to be rescinded. Many have called for the referee that gave Clark the foul to be suspended or outright fired.
"The ref needs to be suspended for such a lousy call," one user on X declared.
"That was a fast review and plus when got that foul on her that was totally dumb because it wasn't a foul," wrote another.

That referee probably won't be fired, but they did get a pretty nasty message from White after the game.
“She intentionally seeked out the official. That’s what I was told. My tech was for saying that’s (expletive). Even though I heard the F-bomb the whole (expletive) game. That’s a bad call. Officials have to have some awareness in those moments and it didn’t happen," White said in the post-game press conference.
And that wasn't even the most controversial moment of the day.
