Not only did Caitlin Clark lead the Indiana Fever in scoring in their 78-76 win against the Washington Mystics on Monday, but she also made the most important shot of the game.
Clark, who finished with 19 points, three rebounds, five assists and one steal, drained a 31-foot 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds left to give Indiana the victory.
The All-Star guard first freed herself up from the Washington defense, and thanks to a precise inbound pass from Sophie Cunningham that evaded Cotie McMahon's attempted steal, Clark had enough space and an open look to hit the game-winner.
Naturally, Clark's Fever teammates were hyped up after the game. Aliyah Boston even pointed out that the Mystics made a mistake by leaving her open, while Kelsey Mitchell said she knew the shot was "money" immediately after Clark released the ball.

Lexie Hull, for her part, was simply in disbelief after seeing the shot. On her Instagram story, she shared a new angle of the play and didn't hide her shock, as she could only write, "oh em gee."
Hull's reaction certainly sums up what Indiana fans are feeling. It's worth noting that Clark nearly cost the Fever the game after missing two free throws that would have given them a 75-74 lead with 36 seconds left.
Sure enough, Clark more than made up for it with her late-game heroics.
Hull was also impactful in the game, though. She finished with eight points on 100% shooting, along with three rebounds. She was also a +4 in the plus-minus box score, highlighting her impact in 22 minutes on the court.
The Fever improved to 6-5 on the season with the win, putting them at No. 6 in the WNBA standings.
