Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are out of the WNBA Playoffs.
The Fever fell to the Las Vegas Aces in Game 3 of their first round series last week. Las Vegas moved on to the second round, while Indiana is going home early. Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, has failed to lead the Fever on a deep playoff run, early in her professional career.
“This is like obviously the most basketball I’ve played at any year of my career,” Clark said postgame. “And to be completely honest with you, I didn’t take a break when our season ended last year. So I’ve been going for almost what a year and a half or whatever it is now because I had to prepare for USA Basketball in December and then March and getting ready for our season.
“The offseason coming into the season was probably one of the most fulfilling for myself of just how the work continues to show up and how you perform. And obviously, I didn’t play much last year, but I was able to come out here and put together the best season I’ve had and perform at a really high level and basically get better in every area. Still feel like I have so many areas to improve. So I guess that’s the most exciting part moving forward. I love the work. I love being in the gym. I’ll probably be kicked out for a little while, but we’ll get back to it.”
Meanwhile, as the WNBA Playoffs continue, some of Clark’s fans are being taunted about the size of the crowds without her.

Former NBA big man Etan Thomas took to social media to taunt Clark’s fans with a sarcastic post.
“Nobody will watch the WNBA playoffs now that Caitlin Clark is no longer playing. Support will plummet. Viewership will plunge. She is the only driving force that brings out fans,” he wrote sarcastically.
“Meanwhile…..State Farm Arena Game 1 of Atlanta Fever vs New York Liberty Semi Finals yesterday.”
Clark, undoubtedly, is a huge ticket sales driver. However, it’s also clear that the WNBA has a lot of popularity without her.
It’s good for both parties, honestly.
