Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham undoubtedly grew close in 2025 during their first season together with the Indiana Fever.

While they didn't play together much — especially with Clark suffering a right groin injury and a bone bruise that limited her to 13 games — the two clearly clicked and developed a strong bond.

As many fans may remember, Cunningham once avenged Clark during a game. After the Fever star was poked in the eye by Jacy Sheldon and shoved by Marina Mabrey during a June 17 game against the Connecticut Sun, Cunningham grabbed Sheldon by the head later in the game and brought her down.

Cunningham drew a Flagrant 2 foul for the play, but she earned a ton of followers and the admiration of Fever fans.

Amid the WNBA offseason, Clark and Cunningham continue to interact with each other on social media, often trolling and poking fun at each other.

On Monday, the two were back at it again. After Cunningham shared several photos of herself from February, Clark couldn't help but comment.

"Do u play basketball," Clark wrote, perhaps noticing that Cunningham's post didn't include anything related to basketball or training.

Cunningham, for her part, responded: "do you want me to send you my highlight reel?"

It's worth noting that Cunningham has spent much of her offseason rehabbing a torn MCL in her right knee that ended her 2025 season prematurely.

Considering their friendship, it's unlikely that Clark and Cunningham will stop teasing each other.

The next big question for them, however, is whether they will stay teammates with the Fever for the 2026 season. Clark is still under her rookie deal with Indiana, but Cunningham is a free agent.

While they have expressed interest in running it back together, Cunningham has also made it clear that she's looking to make as much money as she can in her next deal.

There's also the issue of whether there will be a 2026 campaign due to the current issues in the CBA negotiations.
