Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have become two of the best players in the WNBA over the past three seasons. In 2026, Clark has led the Indiana Fever to a 26-14 record, averaging 22.5 points and 8.4 assists per game. Meanwhile, Reese, in her first year with the Atlanta Dream, also has her team sitting at 26-14 at the WNBA break, tallying 16.1 points and 12.4 rebounds per game.
The two rivals have also joined Team USA for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Berlin, Germany, having played alongside each other for their country at the qualifying tournament in February. And Clark and Reese have helped guide the United States to a quarterfinals appearance, recording a perfect 3-0 record in the group stage with wins over China, Italy and Czechia.
Now, Team USA will look to advance to the semifinals of the 2026 FIBA World Cup, facing Hungary at 5:30 a.m. ET on Thursday.

Clark and Reese have notably butted heads with each other from time to time, dating back to the 2023 NCAA Women’s National Championship, where Reese’s LSU Tigers took down Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes. However, the two have become quite the dynamic duo off the bench for Team USA, with Clark averaging 8.0 points and 6.3 assists, while Reese is notching 8.7 points and 6.0 rebounds.
And following the win over Czechia, Reese took part in the team’s media availability to discuss the game. At one point, however, Clark interrupted the interview, walking between the Dream forward and the reporters before saying “sorry,” giving her Team USA teammate a high five in the process as she walked to the locker room.
Reese went on to comment about Team USA missing their open shots against Czechia despite a 105-64 win.
“We just didn’t hit shots,” Reese said. “We got all the shots that we wanted, but we just didn’t hit our shots that we usually make. To see that we didn’t hit our shots, but we also played good defense, shows how good our team is.”
The winner of Team USA vs. Hungary will move on to the semifinals, where they will face either Spain, Italy or Australia.
